Claims for Loss of Earnings

Where you can prove that you are unable to work as a result of a car accident, you can claim lost earnings through our motor legal protection. We will cover the legal costs required to pursue the claim against the person or people responsible for the accident. This service will endure for as long as your car insurance remains active.

Claims for Medical Expenses

If you require medical treatment or care as a result of an accident caused by another party, our motor legal protection rider will cover the legal fees needed to make a claim against the person responsible. You focus on your recovery — we will handle the legal process.

Defending a Claim Against You

If you are involved in an accident and an affected party makes a claim against you, our motor legal protection will cover the cost of your legal fees for defending the claim in court or through any legal process. You will not face the legal battle alone.

Maximum Claims for Legal Cover

Each vehicle is eligible for legal cover under this plan for not more than 2 claims per insurance term. Starnning Insurance Agency will provide free motor vehicle legal protection in respect of legal proceedings in courts, ensuring you have access to justice without the burden of legal fees.

Contraband, Robbery, Housebreaking, Human Trafficking and Other Serious Offences

Starnning Insurance Agency reserves the right to assess and enroll for legal representation where the insured vehicle is involved in serious crimes such as robbery, possession of dangerous drugs, human trafficking, and any other serious offence where a vehicle may be deemed intrinsically unlawful at law. In deserving cases, the insured may be required to meet extra legal costs for such legal representation.

Choice of Legal Representative

Whilst Starnning Insurance Agency endeavors to afford every client the right to a legal representative of their choice, the agency shall maintain a roll of not less than 3 legal representatives from which the client shall choose.

Important Policy Terms and Conditions

Exemption of Insurance Companies and Service Providers

All insurance companies or service providers are exempted from claims of motor vehicle legal protection to the extent that the vehicles concerned are not enrolled under this policy.

Collection Commission in Cases of Recoveries

Where a legal practitioner is engaged under this policy for the recovery of any sums due to the insured, such legal practitioner shall be entitled to collection commission as permitted by the Law Society of Zimbabwe.

Statutory Fees and Other Outgoings

The client shall pay all statutory fees and other outgoings necessary for legal processes, but shall not, under this policy, meet any legal fees.
