Taxis, InDrive, and Other Ride-Hailing Platform Vehicles

Vehicles that are used as taxis or on ride-hailing platforms such as InDrive are covered under this category. Our motor legal protection for taxi and ride-hailing operators includes:
  • Assistance in accident claims and legal representation
  • Claimant and respondent services
  • Criminal court cases involving the motor vehicle
  • Seizure, impounding, and recovery of the insured vehicle
  • Civil disputes relating to the use of the insured vehicle
  • Maximum of 2 claims per each insurance term
  • No extra charges except statutory insurance fees only

Car Hire Operators

Vehicles Used for Car Hire and Fleet Rental Operations

For operators of car hire vehicles and rental fleets, Starnning Insurance Agency provides motor legal protection that covers the following:
  • Assistance in accident claims (note: no legal cover for drivers)
  • Recovery of unpaid work (10% commission applicable)
  • Civil disputes involving the insured vehicle
  • Servicing, impounding, and recovery of the insured vehicle
  • Maximum of 2 claims per each insurance term

Driving School Vehicles

Vehicles Registered and Used for Driver Training Purposes

Driving school operators can also benefit from our motor legal protection plan. Coverage for driving school vehicles includes:

  • Assistance in accident claims and legal representation

  • Please note: no legal representation is provided for learner drivers
  • Maximum of 2 claims per each insurance term

General Terms Applicable to All Vehicle Categories

The following general terms apply across all vehicle categories enrolled under our motor legal protection plan:
  • All motor legal protection is provided free of charge as part of your insurance policy with Starnning Insurance Agency.
  • No extra charges apply beyond statutory insurance fees.
  • Coverage is valid until the date printed on your insurance disk.
  • The maximum number of claims per insurance term varies by vehicle category as outlined above.
  • All insurance companies and service providers are exempted from claims of motor vehicle legal protection where their vehicles are not enrolled under this policy.
  • Where a legal practitioner is engaged for the recovery of sums due to the insured, collection commission as permitted by the Law Society of Zimbabwe shall apply.
  • The client shall be responsible for all statutory fees and other outgoings necessary for legal processes, but shall not meet any legal fees under this policy.
